Most airports have carts available, so you can collect and transport your own luggage if you wish. Get your entire luggage and do not allow anyone to quickly move off with your bags.

Most taxis and ground transportation can be arranged through counters inside the airports.

Banks are also located inside the international airports, so you can change some money immediately.

We strongly recommend you exchange part of your money inside the airport and not outside the airport with touts.

All foreign nationals have to pay their hotel bills in foreign currency only, in cash, travelers' checks or credit cards. (However, Indian rupees are accepted if supported by proof of certificate of encashment in India of foreign currency or travelers' checks).

Do not hire any type of transportation from unlicensed or unapproved operators. Leave this to MG Tours to organize.

During sightseeing or going to and from transportation terminals avoid touts and brokers. Be aware of unscrupulous shopkeepers; if you feel that you are being abused do not hesitate to consult the proper authorities.

To avoid confusion, insist on seeing the latest fare chart available with taxi/ auto-rickshaw drivers and pay accordingly. Taxis and auto-rickshaws do not have meters in all cities, but where they do, insist on the meter being flagged in your presence. Incase the driver refuses to cooperate, seek the assistance of a policeman. Where there are no meters, ask assistance at your hotel and agree on the tax fare in advance.

Though India is a perfect location for tourists and guests are treated as Gods. But while in India, you are subject to its laws. Familiarize yourself with local laws and customs of the country.

Make 2 copies of your passport identification page leave one copy at home with friends or relatives. Carry the other with you in a separate place from your passport.

     Health Precautions

    Foreign tourists should be in possession of their Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate conforming to     International Health Regulation, if they are originating or transiting through Yellow Fever endemic     countries.

Vaccinations

As a precautionary measure vaccination against Hepatitis B is recommended, if staying for a longer duration.

To avoid Malaria, Dengue, carrying mosquito repellents, nets, clothes covering the body and using sprays against insects in rooms is sufficient.

A first aid kit carrying adhesive bandages, thermometer, water-purification tablets, antibiotics, antiseptic creams and mosquito repellents is advisable.

Drinking only mineral or boiled water curbs down the chances of stomach ailments, thus whenever going out carrying a bottle always comes handy.

At Eating Joints, though sticking to a vegetarian diet is recommended, eating only thoroughly cooked meat is advisable.

Avoid Pork products, fried food from vendors, dishes using excessive oil

Lost Baggage
Incase your baggage is mishandled or lost in transit, obtain a certificate to this effect from the airline and have it countersigned by the customs.

Lost passport
Make sure to file a report with the local police regarding loss of passport. After obtaining new travel documents the foreigner should approach for grant of visa / exit permit with the following details:
